The Alaska Parent Information and Resource Center (AKPIRC) connects families and schools throughout Alaska to enhance the academic achievement of all students. Resources include downloadable parent involvement handouts, staff development toolkits, guidance documents for developing meaningful parent involvement polices and more!
PARENTS: Please click on the Parent tab at the top of this page to find a variety of links to parenting and educational websites.
EDUCATORS: AKPIRC can assist schools to coordinate and strengthen parental involvement activities required under No Child Left Behind.

Do you have parents ready and willing to volunteer? AKPIRC has created a handy list entitled "38 Ways Parents Can Volunteer in Your School." Administrators, discuss with your staff the importance of having a system in place for organizing and training parents once they have indicated a desire to volunteer. Open House is a great time to distribute 38 Ways Parents Can Volunteer in Your School.
